I am off from the outdoor art markets for the months of July and August.  I will be back out at the Bywater Art Market, Arts Market of New Orleans and the Harrison Avenue Marketplace in September.  I will also be adding other outdoor venues along the way, so please make to sure check back regularly! Lastly, I would also like to take this time to express my deepest thanks to the customers who have supported this native New Orleanian and her business since 2002!  It has been a tough road sometimes to own my own business, but customers like you have made it one of the most rewarding endeavors of my life.  It’s sounds corney, but it’s true.

Some very loyal customers have brought it to my attention that I have a couple of copycats out there. They say imitation is the best form of flattery, but I think it shows a lack of imagination and creativity.  I ask that you please continue to stay loyal to Heather Elizabeth Designs as you have done for all these years.  Your loyalty means that I may continue to create wonderful designs. Designs that are truly my own ideas which come from the deepest expression of love for my ancestral home town. I will leave you with these last thoughts:

NOLA Tile Bracelet

Thanks to everyone who has sent up prayers for the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans.  We simply could not have handled another hurricane after Gustave.  And, certainly not a Cat 3.  Gustave did some major damage to our levee walls in 29 areas and they are being repaired now.  This repair work is not connected to the Katrina work still underway and not to be completed until 2011.  So, there is still a lot of work to be done here in New Orleans. 

Tens of thousands in our region still are without power.  It is very hot here right now.  They are reliant upon MRE’s and ice from FEMA.  Power is being restored as fast possible. Many poles are out in the marshes and are highly difficult to restore.  So, please continue to pray for the people of Louisiana. 

On a lighter note, GEAUX SAINTS!!!!  WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS??? WHO DAT? WHO DAT?

Lastly, my thoughts and prayers are with anyone in the path of Ike.
